Overview
The latest release of Flash has some very exciting new features, designed to save development time and enhance the overall developer and user experience. In this video series, Flash trainer Craig Campbell will walk you through these new features in order to help you make the transition to the new release of Flash.

1 - Introduction (Running Time - 1:25)
2 - The Flash Workspace (Running Time - 10:39)
In this video, we open up Flash CS3 for the first time and take a look at the working environment, including the welcome screen, the new one-column toolbar, the panel sets, and the timeline.
3 - Rectange and Oval Primitives (Running Time - 9:00)
With the regular rectangle and oval primitive tools, you can create more customizable shapes that are still editable after they have been created. For example, with the rectangle primitive, you can change the roundness of the corners, even after the shape has been drawn.
4 - The New Pen Tools (Running Time - 3:55)
The pen tool in Flash still works as it always has, but now it has its own subset of tools that allow us to add, delete, and convert anchor points from curves to corners and vice versa.
5 - Copying Motions (Running Time - 7:35)
If you have two objects on which you want to perform the same animation, Flash CS3 now provides the functionality to copy a motion tween from one object onto another.
6 - Maximum Input Characters (Running Time - 2:33)
Flash CS3 now offers the functionality to limit the number of characters the user can type into an input text field. In this video, Craig will show you where to find
this option.
7 - Copying Filters (Running Time - 3:40)
Another new feature of Flash CS3 is the ability to copy and paste filters from one object to another. In this video, Craig will show you how to do this.
8 - Importing Photoshop and Illustrator files (Running Time - 12:54)
One of the most talked-about new features of Flash CS3 is the ability to import Photoshop and Illustrator files seamlessly into Flash. In this video, Craig shows you how to use this brilliant new feature.
9 - Nine-Slice Scaling (Running Time - 11:13)
In this video, Craig introduces you to a new feature of Flash CS3 called 9-slice scaling. This method of scaling an object allows you use guides that allow for smarter resizing of objects.
10 - Library Bitmap Preview (Running Time - 2:09)
When you preview your imported bitmaps in your library, Flash CS3 now has a minor, although very helpful, improvement over previous versions.
11 - Skinning Components (Running Time - 2:58)
Skinning your User Interface Components in Flash CS3 is now infinitely easier than it was before. In this video, Craig will show you how it’s done.
12 - Exporting as Quicktime (Running Time - 3:27)
In Flash CS3, you now have more options when exporting your Flash animation as a quicktime movie. In this video, Craig will show you how to export as Quicktime and how to customize the quality settings.
13 - Exporting Hidden Layers (Running Time - 2:08)
When you’re testing or publishing your Flash movies, you may sometimes want to do so without exporting all of your layers. For instance, you may have some layers that you’ve made invisible that you don’t necessarily want to delete, but you also don’t want it published. Now, in CS3, you can set up your publish settings so that these invisible layers will not be published with the rest of your Flash movie.
