In this video, Craig shows you how to use the selection tool to transform a simple rectangle into any shape imaginable.
3 - Creating Smart Outlines (Running Time - 6:20)
If you want to cut the center out of a shape, leaving only a few pixels of outline, you might be tempted to do so simply using a stroke. However, doing so may yield undesirable results, so in this video, Craig will show you a more effective means of creating the kind of outline you’re looking for.
4 - Drawing Clouds (Running Time - 4:10)
In this video, Craig walks you through the Flash working environment.
5 - Shape Optimization (Running Time - 11:25)
In this video, Craig briefly demonstrates the pen tool and then discusses a few options for optimizing your shapes in Flash.

In this video, Craig demonstrates his favorite method for tracing over scanned drawings in Flash using the line and selection tools.

Trying to draw skewed ovals with the pen tool or the line tool doesn’t often yield very favorable results, so in this video, Craig zooms in to some of the spots where skewed ovals are called for and traces over them using the oval tool.

Tracing over the details of an image can be a little tricky, so in this video, Craig zooms in a little further to walk you through the process.

With all of the details of our tracing completed, Craig now walks us through filling in the tracing with color.

In this video, Craig points out a couple of issues that will often pop up with you’re working with color in Flash and demonstrates how to overcome them.

The brush tool is similar to the pencil tool in that it’s a freehand drawing tool, but the brush tool paints using the fill color.

In this video, Craig zooms in closely to the image and colors in the minor details.
17 - Photorealism - Removing the Outline (Running Time - 5:59)
Now that our car is colored in, we can remove the outline and double-check to make sure we didn’t leave anything out.
